HUB (formerly the Vancouver Area Cycling Coalition) is a charitable organization, originally established in 1998 as a non-profit to address cycling issues in Metro Vancouver. Since then, we've grown a lot! We've educated thousands of children and adults and motivated thousands more. We make cycling better through education, action and events. More cycling means healthier, happier, more connected communities. We’re leading the way in making cycling an attractive choice for everyone.
NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide
The purpose of the NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide (part of the Cities for Cycling initiative) is to provide cities with state-of-the-practice solutions that can help create complete streets that are safe and enjoyable for bicyclists. The NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide is based on the experience of the best cycling cities in the world. The designs in this document were developed by cities for cities, since unique urban streets require innovative solutions. Most of these treatments are not directly referenced in the current version of the AASHTO Guide to Bikeway Facilities, although they are virtually all (with two exceptions) permitted under the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The Federal Highway Administration has posted information regarding MUTCD approval status of all of the bicycle related treatments in this guide.. All of the NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide treatments are in use internationally and in many cities around the US.

It has many partners including researchers from Simon Fraser University, the Universities of Montreal, Toronto and Victoria, cycling planners, and cycling advocates.

Bikes Belong
The Bikes Belong Coalition was formed in 1999 as the national coalition of bicycle retailers and suppliers working to put more people on bikes more often. U.S. bicycle companies recognized that they could accomplish more for bicycling by working together than by working independently. From helping create safe places to ride to promoting bicycling, we carefully select projects and partnerships that have the capacity to make a difference.
People for Bikes
I am for bikes. I'm for long rides and short rides. I'm for commuting to work, weekend rides, racing, riding to school, or just a quick spin around the block. I believe that no matter how I ride, biking makes me happy and is great for my health, my community and the environment we all share. That is why I am pledging my name in support of a better future for bicycling—one that is safe and fun for everyone. By uniting my voice with a million others, I believe that we can make our world a better place to ride.

Operation Fruit Rescue Edmonton
In 2011, OFRE won a micro-grant from NextGen’s MEAET event and used that grant money to partner with EBC to create a pedal-powered apple crusher. Do you have a fruit tree that you don’t have the time or the energy to harvest? Are there more berries than you can handle? Do you want to share your fruit tree with members of your community? If the answer is yes, OFRE can help! OFRE will send volunteer pickers to private residences to pick fruit upon request of the home owner. In addition to collecting fruit, we also organize canning & preserving events during the harvest season.
If you're interested in fruit, or want access to local fruit visit OFRE's website and become a member.
Established in 2009, OFRE is a non-profit organization. Our project grew out of an interest in locally grown food, raising awareness about food security, and establishing urban, local connections with our food.
